How We Began

Tina Kramer hosted our first Breast Cancer Awareness Tea in August 1998 in her home in Bedford, Texas with fourteen women attending. She wanted to honor the members of her family who had breast cancer. With a vision and the belief that a cure for this devastating disease can be found, Rhonda Burns decided to expand this mission and make the Tea a community fundraising event. With the support of family, friends, neighbors, and the community, each year the Tea has increased in attendance from 14 to over 500 expected this year. Over the past eleven years, the Tea has grown from giving a few gift baskets to breast cancer survivors to donating over $50,000 for breast cancer education, and advocacy programs. Please join us to help make a difference in the lives of so many that have been touched by this disease.

What is the Breast Cancer Awareness Tea?

During its eleven-year history, the Tea has become a premier Event for those who attend and one of the largest Teas held in the area with annual attendance exceeding 500 persons. The Breast Cancer Awareness Tea and Fundraiser is one of the most anticipated, and talked-about, fund raising events of its kind for those who have attended. Each year a theme is selected to create an event that continues to draw attention to educate on the importance of early detection and support those in need with breast cancer. This year, once again we will be rolling out the pink carpet to celebrate survivors.

We are excited that the Event will happen once again at the beautiful Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott South. The Marriott is a fantastic setting for a tea party that has truly becoming a tradition. Please join us!

What is our purpose and how do we make a difference . . .

The purpose of the Breast Cancer Awareness Tea and Fundraiser is to educate on the importance of early detection by bringing attention and awareness to self-breast exams and mammogram's. Through our fundraising efforts, we support services that have made and continue to make for a better life for patients, survivors, and their families. You, our Breast Cancer Awareness Tea and Fundraiser patrons, and tea attendees, are helping to make a difference.

Our mission is to educate people on the importance of early detection, help raise awareness of breast cancer, provide reliable information, and offer support and encouragement for healing the body and spirit, through faith, hope, and the belief that every day brings us closer to a CURE.
